This week the Los Angeles Police Cadet’s is recognizing the top Cadet Volunteer for the first half of 2011. With over 750 volunteer hours under his belt, Luis Arizandieta has shown that he is a valuable asset to the Cadet family. Officer Arturo Gonzalez, Cadet Arizandieta’s Youth Service Officer said that Luis was one of the most productive Cadet’s at his post. Officer Gonzalez said that Arizandieta inspired his fellow Cadets to achieve more than average goals. While assigned to Southwest Post Cadet Arizandieta worked nearly all of the special details offered, such as the Hollywood Bowl and other various Youth Program events.
When not volunteering, Cadet Arizandieta spends much of his time pursuing his passion of soccer and other hobbies. However, he balances the Cadet Program with other aspects of his life, for example Luis considers school to be a top priority. He is an excellent student, achieving a 3.0 GPA in high school and taking additional after school classes to supplement his education. Cadet Arizandieta hopes that after he completes school he will be able to join the elite ranks of Los Angeles Police Department.
Because of all of his hard work, Luis Arizendieta will be receiving the Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award and special recognition at the May 21st, 2011 Cadet Graduation Ceremony. We at the Cadet Program would like to extend our greatest respects to the efforts of Cadet Luis Arizandieta and wish him success in his future endeavors.
