Cadet Leadership

Gloria Hernandez

Chief Cadet

Cadet since 2006

Gloria Hernandez is 19 years old and currently holds the position of Chief Cadet which is the highest ranking position in the Cadet Program. She currently attends Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles and is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science. Upon graduating, Chief Cadet Hernandez plans to attend law school and ultimately practice law. She has always been fascinated by the law and law enforcement, and it was the opportunity to get to explore the enforcement side that first drew her to join the Cadet program. As the Chief Cadet, she had functional supervision over the thousands of members of the program and assists in establishing procedures and evaluating and planning activities that will help the membership learn and grow. Chief Cadet Hernandez is an extraordinary and gifted leader and hopes that her mentorship will be an example to all members of the Cadet Program.

Favorite Cadet Memory: Attending the LAPD Women’s Leadership Conference. At the Conference, she was able to hear from speakers about the numerous opportunities for women on the LAPD. By attending the Conference, and events like it, Chief Cadet Hernandez has met a wide variety of people who have all helped open doors for her.
