The Cadet Program affords students who participate in the program numerous benefits and opportunities, from working in the field with sworn officers to working with other youth to benefit the communities they live in.  Some of the activities and assignments that Cadets have participated in over the last year include:

  • March of Dimes
  • Division Picnics/Holiday Parties
  • National Night Out
  • SWAT Fitness Challenge
  • The Academy Awards
  • Hollywood Christmas Parade
  • LA Marathon
  • Dodgers Nights
  • Division Vice Operations
  • Working at Division front desks
  • Officer oriented training for bike patrol

The types of activities in which each Cadet participates varies by post.  However, what remains consistent is that every Cadet has countless chances to develop fundamental skills – time management, peer leadership, communication, and teamwork – that will aid in their success for the rest of their lives.
